Best Christmas Ever!!

This year its been hard for me to get into the spirit of CHRISTmas. So I started off with going to the temple the week of. Later that week, my family put together a few baskets filled with presents, a christmas dinner that includes a turkey, potatoes, rolls, vegies, fruit, and dessert. It was so fun and a tear jerker when we dropped those baskets off the the needful families. We know how that feels. We were struggling the past two years before Dave started his career. So its nice to be on the other side of the spectrum. But ill tell you, it is very humbling and I look at christmas much differently now.
This year for christmas eve we stayed at my parents house And played games, watched movies, and started a new tradition, a Jerusalem dinner. It was fun the more we look back at it. It was embarassing at first, all of us dressing like Mary and Joseph. Then we ate meat and fresh fruit and vegetables with our hands, and drank "wine". Then my dad told us the story we all know about sweet baby Jesus and gave us facts about back then and such. It was really a nice evening.
Christmas morning started at 6:30 at the McCashlands house. We opened our presents. Dave got Firefly, sports 2 for kinect, pj's, pants, shirts, a hoodie, socks, gloves, thermal stuff for work, gift cards, deoderant, sheets, and of course nerf guns and an ipad case for the new ipad. I got new jeans, lots of cute shirts, 3 purses, a wonderful day with dave full of shopping and pedicures, gift cards, workout clothes and a gym membership, a season of glee, a dance centfal kinect game, a beautiful ring (il have to post a pic when it comes back from being cleaned), church shoes, and the cutest picture frame and a picture of ali and my dog.
Then we went to daves parents house at 9:30 to open presents (thanks mom and dad for the oil, shampoo, my shirt and a garmin nuvi 1450 LMT gps) and go to church with there family. After we went to one side of daves family where we had lunch and a white elephant game. It was such a blast. The to the other side where we visited then left to make an early night of it. Visiting lots of people is very fun, but also tireding. I hope you all had a fantastic christmas. Love you all, Hannah and David Xoxo

This Christmas Season

This Christmas season has been different from the past 2 years we've been married. First of, we haven't had to scrounge for money to get presents. With that, Dave has been traveling a lot. So this year feels more lonely than anything for the both of us. Luckily Dave has Christmas off.
The second thing we did different this year is we had a Christmas party. It was sooo much fun. We had some close friends over and had a pot luck dinner, played a white elephant game and played Telestrations. Then some people stayed after the party and had a post party and played the Kinect. It was such a blast we decided we will be having a New Years Eve party too.
When Dave is gone, my friend Chelsee comes that day and stays with me till the day he gets back so I'm not lonely. We have had quite the times.
From making a gingerbread village

to stockings

to buying cute stuff for the foot locker my mom brought me,

to buying mumus, and baking cookies.

And lets just say, When he was getting back from his last case, I thought I'd get him really good and give him an "early christmas present" but was I wrong! This was out on the counter waiting for him

and I was up the stairs hiding watching him read the paper and then I shot him in the back like 10 times then he turned around with a pouty face and FLOWERS!!! What in the name of Sam Hill was I supposed to think?! Haha. so all I could do is stand there in shock. Long story short. Dave won.
And some good news, WERE EXPECTING .. an ipad. Thats right, an ipad. In the mail some time in the next 2 weeks. Dave was so awesome at work, they decided he deserves one. And it couldn't be any more perfect timing, I can use it for school starting in February.
Well, we hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
P.S. This computer sucks, so sorry the pictures with this post are not perfectly together.

What its really like

If you or your husband want to be a Private Investigator let me tell you about what really goes on for your family. First off, you cant plan anything. For example, we had a planned christmas party for a month and now we have to move it to a date we dont know of. And dates? Well you can forget about them. Plus, your spouse is gone ALL the time. For example, when dave dosnt work were always doing other things so you never get "alone time". When they are home, they are either doing reports, catching up on sleep, or fixing stuff. Seriously, I feel like an army wife. Plus we dont have kids. And if your wondering when we are going to have kids the answer is not for a while because we can never be "relaxed" enough. As for money, you start out meh, okay. You can pay your bills and save a little and keep the rest for hotels when they go away. But hey, at least they have a job to pay for stuff, and at least im fortunate enough to have a best friend that I can have sleepovers with.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year was the McCashland homes turn. Most of the family was there and it was so much fun to see lots of the family get together. The night before was such a blast with my cousins at our home. I made pizza and salad and mojitos and brownies. We played games and laughed for hours. Im grateful for such a great family, a wonderful hot babe, my knowledge of the gospel, a cozy bed, a beautiful home, Dave's job that makes a great living so I can stay home and go to school, all my talents, and medication. Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving! Love you all.

Recipes

Mkay, I decided that I want to share my recipes with you guys, so I created a blog for it. You should follow it and try my recipes!!! Ill be adding a few every day. The blog is at hannahsrecipeideas.blogspot.com.

Just our luck!

When Dave and I were in Idaho, we went to Ramanos Macaroni Grill. We got these tickets that we're not supposed to open, and to take with us next time we go to RMG to have the manager open. Inside both were half off for dinner that night. The manager was shocked along with us, I was thinking like we'd get 5 bucks off. In any case, Dinner tasted that much better. I also tried this really good drink. It had some kind of Italian drink shook up with lime and mint. No, it wasnt a mojito. But what ever it was, it was really good.

Cheers!

Girls nights!

This week, Dave went to Idaho for work, and I stayed home. I was SO done traveling for a while. My best friend Chelsee (my brother in-laws girlfriend) and I had a blast! She slept over both nights. Some highlights were watching Hocus Pocus, taking a Zumba class, getting ice cream cones at 10:30 at night, egg facials, doing each others hair and nails, sharing secrets, hopes and dreams. It was all so much FUN! But, of course I was so excited to see Dave come home.

TrAveLinG

Lately, Dave has been traveling a whole lot. He is on his third case in Idaho in a month and a half. I has been so nice to be able to take off with him not knowing where he, or we would be a few days ago. Don't get me wrong, some times its annoying. For example, I had this awesome fun night planned with a bestie this week, and I cant go because I'm in Idaho as we speak. LAME! Also, we cant plan dates or anything like that. We just have to get up and go. Its fun for now, but I'm sure it will wear off soon.
I am also grateful that I have 8 families all over Idaho. Every time we have come up, we have stayed with a different family. It is a blast! I feel that this is all part of Gods plan, I was able to quit my job so I can travel with Dave to keep both of us sane, and with my meds, sometimes insane too. Hahaha!
P.S. Enjoy me laughing about myself, usually it is very unusual for a woman to be on these insane pills and still be happy and bubbly and not grumpy or super bitchy.
Anyways! Light, Love, and Gratitude to you all!

Conference weekend!

I love conference weekend. As soon as it ends it seems like fall can offially begin, in my book. We switch off gc's with family. This weekend was my familys turn. Too bad dave had to miss Saturdays sessions due to work, they were great! I thought it was so cute that President Monson was late to care for his wife that fell again. My dad said he bumps into the presidencies tech support guy a lot and says President Monson dosnt have a cell phone or a computer or a laptop to comunicate with, so he gets lost at work with a computer. I also wonder how he gets around with out this technology at his house! I guess he wouldnt need it with revelation and all, huh. Anyways! Sundays talks were all very excellent. Was it just me, or did it seem like alot of the talks were about reading our scriptures and missionary work. I also let my mom have a day off from cooking and made corn chowder, and pumpkin cinnamon pull apart bread with rum icing. Which turned out amazing since I have never made it before. Its a new fall favorite.

Lately....

A lot of things have changed since my last update. Like... I was able to quit my job. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You really have no idea how happy I am. I also put 2 nurses in there place with a few choice words on my way out the door. ahem... Dave started his dream job. Which makes both of us very happy. We could not be any happier right now, I love feeling at peace and knowing all is well and right. There is so much love and harmony in our home.
As of right now in this chapter in our lives, I get up with the hubs early, help get him ready kiss him goodbye. workout. shower. get all spiffed up. eat breakfast and read my scriptures. The days I don't blog or whatever and clean some I go to the temple. have lunch. play with friends/ go window shopping/ run arrons/ craft. make dinner. enjoy my precious couple hours with hubs. get some beauty sleep and repeat.
The programs I want to take for school don't start for a little while, so I am taking time to relax and unwind and find me. I know I'm blessed, so I am enjoying every ounce of it.
I LOVE not having pressure and doing what I want, when I want to do it. It is so nice not having to worry about money any more. Sometimes I even get to travel with hubs to visit if the cases he works on are near family. Like, next week we will be in Idaho Falls. I LOVE that place.
Also, I am on this medication right now and it is very interesting. People said I would go crazy on it. To tell you the truth, I have noticed 2 changes, and I was only crazy once. It was a funny crazy though. It was when My friend, hubs and I went out to dinner and we were cracking jokes, and I don't know if they were really THAT funny, or if it was just me. But it was just HILARIOUS. I was seriously laughing for an hour straight. It was even funnier (is that even a word? lol) when people looked at me funny and started laughing because I was laughing so hard. The 2 changes I very much dont like are 1) HOT FLASHES!!! Booo! It was 69 in the house this morning and i was sweating like a knocked up nun at confession. 2) Nothing sounds good to eat. I can be starving and I wont eat anything because if it dosnt sound good, then it wont taste good. But when something sounds good, hubs will go as fast as he can to get. I love him so much. He is so good to me.
Anyways! Light, love and gratitude to you all!

The Best Day of My Life!!!

This past Thursday was the last day working at the bottom of the hell hole. Aka, South Davis Community Hospital. I am sooo Happy, I'm pretty sure nobody has ever seen me this happy in a very long time. I haven't quite got it out of my brain yet, so the nights before I was supposed to work I get anxious and stressed, but I'm sure that will clear soon.
The past few days have been so weird not working and knowing that Dave is making more money than we ever have before together times 2 in a single month. I need to re-learn what to do until I start vampire school. So if you have any fun suggestions, let me know!

My Favorite Season: Fall!

Here are some reasons why fall is my favorite time of the year.

You get to show off your creativity on a pumpkin.

You cannot find a more pretty view of warm colors. I always feel at home with all the different shades of brown, orange, yellow, and red.

You can get away with drinking hot chocolate before its winter.

I love losing my way with the hubs in a corn maze.

My favorite fall treat. Creamy, nutty and soft on the outside. Juicy and crisp on the inside.

I have an awesome excuse to make my famous white chicken chili. No matter how many times I crave it durring the rest of the year, I always save it for the fall. Mmm!

I did it.

So the very first night after Dave left was terrible. I thought it would be totally fine. What ended up happening was I was getting ready for bed when I hear this super strange thud. I had no idea what it was. As soon as I realized I was freaking myself out I tried to stop. As I finally got settled in my bed I heared it again. This time I knew it wasnt all in my head. So I jumped out of bed and probably looked like a retard walking all weird and yelling weird things trying to scare something that most likely wasnt in my home out. (But you cant help for thinking someone was, we have had 2 break ins in out neighborhood in a calandar month). So as soon as I ran back upstairs into my room, I saw that my mom was calling me. She was making sure I was okay and It didnt take much to convince me to come sleep over at there house. As I layed in bed. I was thinking that I beed to get over that new fear of sleeping at my house alone. So I decided that last night I was going to do it. And I did it!!! I went to bed at 8:30 while it was still light outside so people could still see my house which means nobody would come take out worthless stuff (hence, The List) or try to kidnap me, and I took a melatonin. Which knocked me out for 12 hours. Hopefully the rest of the times I am home alone at night sleeping will go that smooth. But in any case, I know its a little lame.. but Im so proud of myself!!

Fairytale will come true

Once apon a time, there was a beautiful princess who married the most handsome prince in the whole world who made her laugh every day. Ever since they were hitched, she worked as a slave to a powerful man named Mr. Mister who owned a castle full of old and sick dragons. She worked there for 2 1/2 years scraping poop off the floor, being showered in urine and vomit and being yelled at for not cleaning up and caring for the old and sick dragons fast enough. One day the princess snapped. She was done coming home crying and not being treated fairly and be tired all the time. So she went to see Mr. Mister that if he wouldnt let her become the new welcoming fairy, that he would loose the best, most prized worker in all the land.
In the mean time, her prince graduated prince finishing school to become a spy to work for foxes. He was so excited to start his new adventure. He told his princess that if she stays a slave and clean up dragon poop until he gets back, she will recieve 300 gold coins all to herself. She decided that it would probably be wise to stay for a couple more weeks to help her family. Even if she didnt get the new position as welcoming fairy.
While the prince was gone, the princess threw a party and invited all her animal friends to come. They had a blast until one day before the prince was to return home and she could clean up all the mess.
Shortly upon his arrival home, she was granted 300 gold coins and had a weeks worth of fun shopping. She also quit her job working for Mr. Mister and got a fun job at a clothing cottage. The End!

"The List"

As I promised last post, I will share with you "the list". That is what Dave and I call it. Don't worry, we have some unfinished debts to pay off first. Anyways! Here goes...

5) Couches. We own 3 fugly couches. Time to make the world less fugly one couch at a time. :)
6) Kitchen table, preferably square.
7) TV and entertainment center. The options are endless.
8) Cruise number 2. Can you say relax? Ahh.
9) Rugs. I may take this one off the list.
10) Bookshelves for the library.
11) Grill. Nuff said

Random!

So this post is totally random. Oh, btw, if you didnt know, David got the job and is headed off to training in Chicago, Illinois on the 15th of this month for 2 whole weeks, then he gets to drive 20 hours home. But thats okay... 15 dollars an hour drive time is pretty shweet. As soon as he gets all settled in his new career, I will go down to weekends at the hospital. WHOOHOO!!! Oh! btw, when I quit Im throwing this huge party and you're all invited.
My dad not the bishop anymore and it is kind of weird. I always see him now and it throws me for a loop.
I need to get new scrubs that don't stink like hospital. Eww!
One of these days I will post "The List" of big ticket items that we will be purchasing and you all can give me your opinion.
I am so happy my two guy friends are safe home from their missions. It is so fun to have game nights with them.
The chances are 1/10, will we be it??? I hope so.
Do you ever feel like you try and try, but you just aren't good enough to become a favorite? I sure do!
"Why should I apologize for you choosing to be offended? That's your problem. You get to deal with your choosing to have a broken heart".
Cute love quote goes here.
The Doc is going to put me on Clomid starting next month.
I love my husband sooooooo much. I'm so proud that he found his career.
And that wraps up Hannahs random thoughts of the hour. ;)

Summer 2011

First off, pictures are to come. That is a whole other story.
So many things have happened this summer. Like, since we have moved into our new place, we realzed that yard work isnt always fun and easy. One saturday, we spent all day with my parents at our house pulling weeds, mowing the lawn and babying our peach tree and raspberry bushes. Then a week day later in the week, one of my buddies that just got home from his mission came over to help us pull all the weeds in the garden (aprox. 1/4 of the backyard). Thanks Jordan!! (This is where I would insert before and after pictures. hahaha)
Lets see. What else... Oh! We went to snowbird this past week. It was so nice to get away and relax. We went on a hike and it was very lovely. Lots of green, not a cloud in the sky, pretty flowers and the water was pretty high too.
David also has this new awesome job opportunity to be a investigator for a company called Photofax(he is actually on his last interview/ride along as we speak. he'll be home in about 11 hours. yikes) With this job, he would be traveling about 1/3rd of the month and I would be able to go to 2 weekends a month and go to school full time for now. We are so excited for him and this opportunity. (We'll let you know in the next day or two if he gets it, and im sure we will post about it, so keep your eyes open).
Going back to raspberries, (I just had this memory of when I was like 9, living in Vancover, Washington driving around all morning and afternoon with my mom and my sister with big bowls going to random peoples houses with signs on there porch saying "Fresh ______berries, you pick") we have like 9 bushes and they are so full of the delicioso berries that we have to water and pick like every day. I love them so much that this is quite fun for me. I want to try to make freezer jam this year. I will let you know how that first time experience goes.. Also, I've been giving a lot away, so if you want some, PLEASE COME PICK!!! They are also AMAZING with frozen yogurt. We have had that like every night for the past week and a half. mmm!

Speechless

So, David and I went to the doctor yesterday and it looks like we have a false positive on our hands. They took lots of blood to run tests and the doctor says that the pain I've had may be my appendix. So we scheduled another appointment for next month. The doctor says that she really wants to help us, and says everything will be okay and hopefully what they are going to do will help us get pregnant in the next 6 months or so.
It really sucks, and we are very sad. But I guess that's just life. I'm so happy I have 2 such amazing families to be there for Dave and I through it all. When the time is right, everything will work out.
In the midst of that, due to my ahem. fantastic. ahem. work they decided not to give me the weekend off I needed so we can move into our new house. So we are slowly but surely taking a truck load of our stuff about every other day until we can take the big stuff on the 4th of June.

Our Even BIGGER smaller News!

Yes, we all know you have been waiting for this news ever since we got married... or so my grandma told me. But I thought for those who don't know, we're pregnant! Yay!
We knew for a very long 3 weeks. It was sooo hard not to tell. We were going to share the news on my birthday (May 29th), but that was just too far away.
This is how we let them know for Mothers Day.

We did count all the 224 m&ms, one for each day so our parents and grandparents can count down with us, which means I started my 8th week yesterday. I also made up the poem, turns out I'm more creative than I thought. Looks like we wont be so lonely in that big, new house after all.

Our BIG News

We are so excited to say... WE'RE MOVING!!! We are so happy to offically move out of our cute little one bedroom apartment in 2-3 months, and into a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom (and unfinished basement) home we will be renting out in Clearfield, UT.
Some things were excited about moving are: a disposal, an actual dishwasher and not a Dave-ISH washer, a walk-in closet and jetted tub, more S P A C E, having it be lighter with natural sunlight inside, a peach tree, some well to do raspberry bushes, a garden and nice green grass to lay on, all on a quiet street, AND the bestest thing ever, out of the nursery we've been in since we have been married. Also, an excuse to buy cute new decor, a washing machine and dryer, a nice kitchen table, couches, and TV. Dont worry, we know it will take a while to buy all of that stuff... unfortunatly :(
Some things we're not excited about moving are: leaving our "wardies" (im sure it dosent matter that they're all under the age of 2, and accept for my cute visiting teaching companion. But she is moving too). Driving a bit further to meet my goal of going to the temple once a week. Also, Dave not being able to walk to and from work (since we're on the same street), plus me being about 5 minutes from the hospital.
All in all, we are so thrilled to be moving in to a bigger better place that's closer to our families.

Letter to the weathetter.

Dear Utah Weather,
You have been on my nerves. If you needed a miodol, just ask. I have plenty to share. Any ways, just making sure you're not doing this on purpose. But, it gets SO cold then the next day and a half its a nice 75 degree, perfect picknick weather. Then you blink, and its snowing. again. LAME!!! So if you want me to say here and not go any more crazy, or wishing harder that I was going on a cruise or somewhere tropical, please turn into a somewhat enjoyable spring/summer weather.

Love, Nan

PS. I'd be willing to make you cake balls.

Temple= Job

I will admit, since between last month and when we got married I've/we've only been to the temple only a handful of times. So one day at work I felt inspired to talk to one of my coworkers to see if she'd go with me once a week. She LOVED that idea. So for the past month we've gone once a week. Since then I have seen so many blessings come of it. One I will share with you. Dave was laid off from his job last week due to money issues with the company. We were SO terrified of what would come of it. We decided to keep a good attitude about it and apply to more jobs. Well, tonight (exactly a week, 1 hour and 24 minutes), (but who's counting??) Dave recieved an email from a lady he worked with saying its okay to come back to work again. We are so thrilled that he has his rockin' awesome job back again. If that doesn't tell you blessings do exist, I don't know what will.

Mouths of Babes

Next time you are on youtube, look up '"Mouths of Babes" Funny LDS Video'. It is SOOO funny. It has cute primary kids hilariously answering questions. I had to watch it twice, and then again when Dave got home from work.

computers

Recently our computers (mostly mine) has been acting up. So were thinking maybe its time to buy a new laptop. I have hookups at the apple store where I can get a macbook pro for 700 instead of 1000ish. Is this a good deal? Could I get a newer one for cheaper somewhere else? Is there something better than a macbook? Please feel free to leave your advice and opinion, it would be much appreciated. :)

Students

Since Ive had my zone last week, I have tried looking at things (especially at work) differently. For the most part it has worked. Today was one H-E-double Q of a day. But since I have decided to think more positive It went rather fast and cheerful. Every time in the morning when I get ready for work and I dont think I can make it, or I feel too tired and week to go to work, there are always students that need experience(hence, this morning). Such a blessing! Even if they dont know what they're doing, its half the work I have to do and everything ends up all right in the end.

Shemocyte

This is my new car window sticker.

I added the "S", to the word Hemocyte (because it makes the word "she", and my car is a girly car).

I decided to name my car Shemocyte because Phagocytes destroy pathogens, and since my car is an economy car, which doesn't use much gas, it cuts down on pollution! hahaha

P.S. For those who didnt know, hemocytes are phagocytes of invertebrates. :)

Pray :)

"It isnt as bad as you think it is, it all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we put our trust in him. If we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings. He will hear our prayers."
~President Hinckley

I miss that man so much!

The Becoming of Our Fairytale

Tonight I was listening to my ipod on shuffle on came "What Heaven Sees in You". That song is very special to me.
About 2 and a half years ago, Dave and I were falling in love and had to decide if we should get married. Dave had already had a few hints due to some blessings and such that I was his, but I wasnt sure if it was right. So of course after a long day at work, I go home and find the door locked and then realize that I left my key behind those walls. Well,CRAP! So I went to the next door neighbors to borrow our house key, and of course they arent home. Double CRAP!
I decided that since it was a nice summer afternoon, I should take a drive. So I did. Not knowing where I would be taking myself, I ended up parked on the mountain road over looking the Bountiful Temple and the valley. Then I felt the spirit so strong to pray then read my scriptures, so I did. I flipped open to a paper that I had made in Young Womens about our "future husband" I compared that to Dave and he pretty much summed it up. Then I decided to make a chart about things that would happen if we did get married and it all seemed to fit in and work. I then was feeling so blown out of the water.
A few Sundays later, Dave and I were driving home from church when that very song came on. That is when I felt the spirit the strongest ever in my life. Right then, I KNEW! He was MY prince, and he was to take ME to the castle (temple) and to live happily ever after! So thats what happened, and we are living happily ever after, for time and all eternity.

Bopping Bobas, My New Addiction!

So there is this semi-new frozen yogurt place in k-town. Almost everytime I go to my parents we wind up there for a few minutes. A few times ago I somehow tried these bopping bobas,(they looked gross, so I tried them with an open mind) and now Im addicted to them!!!!

I get a little bit of yogurt and like half the container of them. Last time I was there I asked the chick behind the counter where they got them (I was thinking of placing an order just for myself. hahaha! No. Serious face) she said somewhere in Taiwan. That threw me for a loop. So now Im trying hard to find them on google in Taiwan. Thats this weeks funnyness from Hannah.

Perfect Grandma!

The other day at work I was shower aid. It was one of my last showers on my shift. My partner and I was washing her down then I started washing her hair. She told me to scrub really really hard, I thought I was going to hurt her I was scrubbing so hard. Then I asked "Aren't I making your head tender?" She said "Oh no dear, The only place that's tender is my heart." Isn't that the cutest thing EVER?! I declare that patient the cutest rockin' grandma of all time!
