Best Christmas Ever!!

This year its been hard for me to get into the spirit of CHRISTmas. So I started off with going to the temple the week of. Later that week, my family put together a few baskets filled with presents, a christmas dinner that includes a turkey, potatoes, rolls, vegies, fruit, and dessert. It was so fun and a tear jerker when we dropped those baskets off the the needful families. We know how that feels. We were struggling the past two years before Dave started his career. So its nice to be on the other side of the spectrum. But ill tell you, it is very humbling and I look at christmas much differently now.
This year for christmas eve we stayed at my parents house And played games, watched movies, and started a new tradition, a Jerusalem dinner. It was fun the more we look back at it. It was embarassing at first, all of us dressing like Mary and Joseph. Then we ate meat and fresh fruit and vegetables with our hands, and drank "wine". Then my dad told us the story we all know about sweet baby Jesus and gave us facts about back then and such. It was really a nice evening.
Christmas morning started at 6:30 at the McCashlands house. We opened our presents. Dave got Firefly, sports 2 for kinect, pj's, pants, shirts, a hoodie, socks, gloves, thermal stuff for work, gift cards, deoderant, sheets, and of course nerf guns and an ipad case for the new ipad. I got new jeans, lots of cute shirts, 3 purses, a wonderful day with dave full of shopping and pedicures, gift cards, workout clothes and a gym membership, a season of glee, a dance centfal kinect game, a beautiful ring (il have to post a pic when it comes back from being cleaned), church shoes, and the cutest picture frame and a picture of ali and my dog.
Then we went to daves parents house at 9:30 to open presents (thanks mom and dad for the oil, shampoo, my shirt and a garmin nuvi 1450 LMT gps) and go to church with there family. After we went to one side of daves family where we had lunch and a white elephant game. It was such a blast. The to the other side where we visited then left to make an early night of it. Visiting lots of people is very fun, but also tireding. I hope you all had a fantastic christmas. Love you all, Hannah and David Xoxo

This Christmas Season

This Christmas season has been different from the past 2 years we've been married. First of, we haven't had to scrounge for money to get presents. With that, Dave has been traveling a lot. So this year feels more lonely than anything for the both of us. Luckily Dave has Christmas off.
The second thing we did different this year is we had a Christmas party. It was sooo much fun. We had some close friends over and had a pot luck dinner, played a white elephant game and played Telestrations. Then some people stayed after the party and had a post party and played the Kinect. It was such a blast we decided we will be having a New Years Eve party too.
When Dave is gone, my friend Chelsee comes that day and stays with me till the day he gets back so I'm not lonely. We have had quite the times.
From making a gingerbread village

to stockings

to buying cute stuff for the foot locker my mom brought me,

to buying mumus, and baking cookies.

And lets just say, When he was getting back from his last case, I thought I'd get him really good and give him an "early christmas present" but was I wrong! This was out on the counter waiting for him

and I was up the stairs hiding watching him read the paper and then I shot him in the back like 10 times then he turned around with a pouty face and FLOWERS!!! What in the name of Sam Hill was I supposed to think?! Haha. so all I could do is stand there in shock. Long story short. Dave won.
And some good news, WERE EXPECTING .. an ipad. Thats right, an ipad. In the mail some time in the next 2 weeks. Dave was so awesome at work, they decided he deserves one. And it couldn't be any more perfect timing, I can use it for school starting in February.
Well, we hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
P.S. This computer sucks, so sorry the pictures with this post are not perfectly together.

What its really like

If you or your husband want to be a Private Investigator let me tell you about what really goes on for your family. First off, you cant plan anything. For example, we had a planned christmas party for a month and now we have to move it to a date we dont know of. And dates? Well you can forget about them. Plus, your spouse is gone ALL the time. For example, when dave dosnt work were always doing other things so you never get "alone time". When they are home, they are either doing reports, catching up on sleep, or fixing stuff. Seriously, I feel like an army wife. Plus we dont have kids. And if your wondering when we are going to have kids the answer is not for a while because we can never be "relaxed" enough. As for money, you start out meh, okay. You can pay your bills and save a little and keep the rest for hotels when they go away. But hey, at least they have a job to pay for stuff, and at least im fortunate enough to have a best friend that I can have sleepovers with.
